I have always loved traveling, the freedom to go wherever I wanted, to explore distant beautiful places and experience strange and fascinating cultures. But I have also loved sharing my view of those places and my experiences of those cultures with my friends and fellow wanderers.
Because of that I decided to start my digital adventure and share it with the world.
I knew that there are many people who didn’t have an opportunity to travel and visit many of these wondrous places, so I decided to do my best to present them to you in all their glory.
Japan has always been a fascinating place for me and I enjoyed learning about it – from its wondrous history and culture, built on millennia old foundations and infused with modern advancements, to it’s breathtaking natural beauty.
It is unlike any other place on the Earth; a cultural Galapagos, out of reach for many but still an untouched mystery even for the lucky few living there.
To visit Japan means to broaden your horizons, explore places you never knew existed and take on a whole new world and way of life. That is why I chose Japan and decided to help people all around the world to take part in the experience that is Japan and its culture.
My goal is to bring you the best of Japan, both the famous sights and the hidden gems you didn’t know existed. That way, everyone can enjoy beautiful Japan scenery, no matter where you are.

Mate has been fascinated by Japan for as long as he can remember. His fascination started from a young age with anime and video games but quickly expanded to culture, history, food, and language. Mate has visited Japan multiple times and spent months exploring the country, from the famous big cities to tiny hidden villages. He intends to visit Japan many more times and even live there for a period of his life.
Mate is the co-owner and co-founder of digital marketing and web development agency called Paradox Bay. His scope of work encompasses everything from web design and SEO to social media management. These experiences, along with his knowledge and passion for Japan, made him start Japanko Official together with his friend Josip.
