Japan is a great place to visit during the winter season. It offers a variety of activities such as skiing, snowboarding, and hiking that will surely keep you occupied. The country also has many beautiful places worth visiting during the winter season.
One example is hot spring towns. The Japanese have a long tradition of visiting hot springs during wintertime. It feels so good to be huddled in a traditional onsen town like the famed Ginzan Onsen, surrounded by white snow. You get to enjoy local food and bathe in natural hot springs. There are even options for outdoor baths while surrounded by snow.
Japan’s nature gets transformed by the snow. Seeing mighty mountains like Mount Fuji covered in deep snow is a sight you won’t forget.
Additionally, there are a lot fewer tourists in the country compared to other seasons, especially spring. So you can expect lower prices and fewer crowds.
All in all, visiting Japan in winter can be a fantastic experience.
