Candeo Hotels Fukuoka Tenjin is a cozy and affordable hotel located in Tenjin, one of the busiest areas in the Kyushu region.
I have stayed in Candeo Hotels before and I was really looking forward to staying here again and enjoying their signature SkySpa.
As I already said, the hotel is located in the famed Tenjin area of Fukuoka. There are several interesting spots around the hotel.
My favorite is Nakasu island, located nearby across the bridge. You can find many bars, clubs, and shops on this small river island. But the highlight for me are small food stalls that dot the waterfront. I love going here on a night out and trying delicious street food and drinks while meeting new people.
If you want to relax a bit, there are several interesting parks in the area. Tenjin Central Park and Kego Park are close by, while the famous Ohori Park is 15 minutes away.
The hotel is well connected to the rest of the city thanks to the major subway station located a few minutes away and several bus stops right next to the hotel.
When I arrived at the station near the hotel and got off the bus, I immediately saw a huge Candeo sign down the street. You see, Candeo Hotels always have prominent signs outside, so you will never miss them.
I made my way toward it and boarded the elevator on the first floor, which took me to the 10th floor, where the lobby was located. The check-in procedure was quickly completed, and I was given some basic instructions about the hotel and told my room number and its location on the 8th floor.
When I got into my room, I was happy to see the amazing view it had. You see it was a corner room, so I had a spectacular view from both sides thanks to the large windows that stretched across almost two entire sides of the room.
Since the hotel was located on Watanabe-dori, the main avenue in the Tenjin area, there were some spectacular sights to see. Many cars and people were moving down below me, while bright city lights and planes flying in the sky made the whole scene more spectacular.
I spent a lot of time just sitting there and enjoying the view. The room itself was quite spacious and had two large comfortable beds.
As with all of my stays in Candeo hotels, there was comfortable room wear provided. I wanted to be more comfortable so I immediately changed into that to relax a bit on the bed.
In the room there was also a large desk ideal if you need to do some work. As you probably know, I often have to do some work on trips, so that’s a big plus for me. The room includes all the equipment and amenities you would expect from such a room. Equipment like TV, phone, Wi-Fi, air conditioning, refrigerator, electric kettle, and amenities such as shampoo, body wash, toothbrush, towels, and hair dryer are just some of them.
After resting a bit I went to check out the highlight of every Candeo hotel I visited, their signature SkySpa. SkySpa is a hot bath located on the top floor of the hotel, and there is one for men and one for women.
The men’s spa is equipped with a dry sauna, where the high temperatures help with blood circulation as you sweat out the toxins from your body. Followed with a cold water bath, the temperature difference really helps relieve any fatigue from your day. Of course, there is an outdoor and an indoor hot bath as well. The women’s spa is equipped with a lobby sauna, where you apply the aromatic liquid to heated stones, which generates water vapor and promotes sweating. Similar to a sento, you need to wash yourself or take a shower before entering the baths.
Once there, you can relax from the rush of sightseeing in the city or from a fun night out. It’s great because you’re so high up in the air above many other buildings. Of course, the glass is tinted, so it cannot be seen from outside. As I said, there’s a cold and a hot indoor bath, as well as a hot outdoor bath. I really enjoyed all of them, but the outdoor bath was my favorite because I could breathe the fresh air and sit outside the bath to cool down and relax.
I came to the hot bath a couple of times during my stay here. It’s open almost the entire day, which is a huge plus. It starts at 3 p.m. and is open all day and night until 11 a.m. the next morning. Ideal if you come back from a night out and are still not sleepy so you can spend some time in the spa. I know I did!
Note: there is special permission needed for SkySpa photo taking.
After a pleasant night of sleep, I went to the lobby in the 10th floor, where there is a restaurant that serves a breakfast buffet.
Breakfasts at Candeo hotels were always very good, and I have to say that this one did not disappoint. There was a wide variety of options to pick from. They offer a typical American breakfast with sausages, scrambled eggs, and bread, and also a full Japanese breakfast with dishes such as rice, miso soup, tofu, fish, etc.
In addition to this, there are many fresh vegetables and freshly baked danishes. The view was also quite nice, similar to the one in my room actually, so the whole street was below me. All in all, I was satisfied with the breakfast, and it gave me the energy to explore the rest of Fukuoka that day.
My stay at the Candeo Hotels Fukuoka Tenjin was a comfortable one and I’m satisfied with what the hotel offers. If you’re looking for a great affordable hotel to stay in Fukuoka, I can say that this is the place for you. Check out their website to learn more!
