An Enchanting Encounter with Nature: My Experience at Glamping Village Fuji Kawaguchiko

In a world where the hustle and bustle of city life often overshadow the serene whispers of nature, finding a sanctuary that bridges the gap between luxury and the great outdoors is a rare gem. My recent journey across Japan led me to such a place – Glamping Village Fuji Kawaguchiko. Nestled near the majestic Mount Fuji and the tranquil Lake Kawaguchiko in Yamanashi Prefecture, this glamping site offered an unparalleled blend of comfort, luxury, and natural beauty.

Glamping Village Fuji Kawaguchiko - A Serene Approach to Luxury

I still clearly remember my arrival at Glamping Village Fuji Kawaguchiko. It has been an hour and a half since we left Tokyo, and it was a pleasant ride. But the last half an hour I spent glued to the window enjoying the awe-inspiring sight of Mount Fuji from up close.

And the glamping sight was right under the mountain. Surrounded by trees and unspoiled wilderness, it felt like stepping into a place where time slows down, allowing you to truly connect with the environment.

Glamping Room Types

The village comprises 30 rooms, making it one of the largest glamping resorts in Yamanashi Prefecture. And I could really feel it as I was walking around and exploring the grounds. Guests have the choice between villas and dome tents, each offering a unique way to experience the outdoors without compromising on comfort. Domes are also for family with small kids. And villas are also for couples that want luxurious setting.

Villas

The luxurious villas are spacious and ideal for groups or large families. I had the pleasure of staying in one with my travel group. These two-bedroom floor plans come equipped with hot spring baths and personal saunas which I loved!

Imagine how good it feels to get both that camping feel, and also enjoy hot baths and luxury.

Domes

On the other hand, the large dome tents, with a diameter of 7 meters, provide an outdoor experience with all the comforts of a well-furnished interior.
Air-conditioned and spacious, these tents are a testament to the extraordinary atmosphere that Glamping Village Fuji Kawaguchiko strives to create for every guest. And I have to say they are quite cozy as you can see for yourself.

Pet Friendly Rooms

The site is pet-friendly, offering dog-friendly villas and dome tents, and providing ample space for pets to explore and enjoy. I did not bring my pet cat Kiara, but if you want to bring your own pet, you have that option which I think is great.

Luxurious Yet Homely Experience

Staying in the villa, I was impressed by the meticulous attention to detail in the decoration and the luxurious yet homely atmosphere it created.

The inclusion of modern amenities like a smart TV ensured a comfortable stay, while the four large, comfortable beds, all in the same room, provided that feel of camping.

The toilet, kitchen, bath and sauna are located in the adjacent structure so you have a bit of privacy which is great! I really have to compliment the bath and the sauna. It is such a nice addition and the fact that you can enjoy them while observing Mount Fuji is great!

View Like No Other

In my honest opinion, what truly sets this glamping site apart from others is its breathtaking views of Mount Fuji. Whether staying in a villa or a dome tent, you are constantly treated to the majestic sight of Japan’s iconic mountain. The experience of waking up to such a view, coupled with the opportunity to take unlimited photos, is nothing short of magical and I will never forget it.

The villas, with their large glass windows, offer a particularly stunning perspective. Sleeping next to such a panorama, under a sky brimming with stars, was an unforgettable experience for me. The natural hot spring baths I had in my villa, further enhanced this serene site since I could bathe while gazing at Mount Fuji.

Glamping Food & Drinks

Beyond the comfort of the accommodations, Glamping Village Fuji Kawaguchiko provides amazing food and drinks for you!

The first night’s locally produced glamping barbecue was a delightful introduction to the local cuisine of the Yamanashi area. Cooking our own barbecue, complemented by delicious Yamanashi wines from the onsite nature bar, was a culinary adventure. The kitchen in our villa comes fully equipped, and among others, it had a really good barbecue.

This bar with free drinks for guests is nestled among the trees and adjacent to a cozy fire pit space. It serves as a common area where guests can connect and share their experiences. I had the pleasure of meeting some interesting people from across Japan and the world, so I am sure you will as well.
In the morning, breakfast was delivered to our door, which allowed for a leisurely start to the day. We prepared sandwiches, had yogurt and some drinks before setting off to do interesting activities around the area.

Local Activities

The location’s proximity to Lake Kawaguchiko and Mount Fuji opens up a plethora of activities for you to try. From kayaking and wakasagi fishing to exploring the local area, there is no shortage of adventures. These experiences, only a short trip from the glamping site, allow you to fully embrace the natural beauty and cultural richness of the region. I had the pleasure of driving around and exploring the local nature and towns, which was very fun!

Conclusion

Glamping Village Fuji Kawaguchiko was a perfect nature getaway for me. The blend of luxury and nature, the breathtaking views of Mount Fuji, and the array of activities available make it a must-visit destination for those looking to escape the city and immerse themselves in the beauty of Japan’s natural landscape.
