Cen Diversity Hotel & Cafe is a really interesting place in Shin-Okubo, an area known as Tokyo’s Koreatown, located just north of Shinjuku.
I got the chance to stop there for some drinks and cake, and it was an excellent experience that I would love to share with you.
As you might have guessed from its name, Cen Diversity Hotel & Cafe is well-known as an inclusive hotel and cafe where everyone can feel welcome. Situated in a small alley, so it’s always peaceful, and you feel a bit separated from the hustle and bustle of downtown.
The staff members were all highly professional and quickly helped me find a seat and took my order. I ordered a cafe latte as well as a non-alcoholic cocktail and a cheesecake.
I was quickly served all of that and spent some time just chilling in the nice seats, drinking my drinks, and enjoying the atmosphere. It felt really friendly.
There were many people from all sides of the world, and I was really impressed by its atmosphere. There’s even a terrace located on the first floor where you can sit and relax.
I was so lucky that I got the chance to meet the owner as well. He is a really nice guy, and we spent a lot of time discussing many interesting topics related to Japan and Japanese society.
I really understood the vision he had for this place. Even though I was there only for some drinks and cakes, which were of course, extremely delicious, he still offered me to go on a tour of the hotel to check out what he saw. I accepted.
I took a walk through the hotel and checked out the lobby with interesting artwork and a couple of rooms that they have, which were all quite uniquely designed compared to many other hotels.
By all means, it’s not a luxury hotel but a stylish and affordable place to stay for everyone, regardless of their beliefs, orientations, or where they come from. I went outside to finish my drinks and enjoy the nice music that was playing in the background.
I said goodbye to the staff members and then went to Shinjuku. It has a perfect location, and it only takes a few minutes of walking to reach the center of Shinjuku and the Shinjuku Station.
So, all in all, it has great service, delicious coffee and cake, and a perfect location. Cen Diversity Hotel & Cafe is truly an inclusive place that I highly recommend you visit if you’re in the area and want some drinks and coffee at a friendly place.
